Encouraging children to explore, creatively make connections, and be inquisitive are key components that contribute to their intellectual success. In this interactive workshop, attendees will learn and experience how iPads and the world around us are used to enhance children's abilities in creativity, build understanding, and make thinking visible in primary classrooms. We will share how children use specific apps to look deeply, observe closely, capture moments of inspiration, and document the process of learning as they pursue their questions in meaningful contexts. Developing inquiry-based learning environments that honor children, support their wonderings and capabilities, and document their experiences as they construct knowledge alongside adults will be discussed. Participants will engage in a creative process using iPads both individually and collaboratively. Come experience firsthand how simple this step into technology can be and see how your students can engage in inquiry-based projects as they pursue their questions, share their understanding, create content, summarize, synthesize, and reflect upon their experiences.
