iOS & Shakespeare

Each year my students say the same things, "Why are reading this old, dead, white guy?" and "I hate Shakespeare.” Let's face it, students usually groan the moment ELA teachers tell them that they’ll be reading Romeo & Juliet or Macbeth. This session will show teachers practical ways that they can use iOS devices to have their students do more than just read Shakespeare's plays.  Instead, their students will actually interact with Shakespeare's words using apps, social networking, & content creation.  Participants will see that the iPad and other iOS devices are the perfect tools for teaching Shakespeare.  Attendees will see examples of how teachers have utilized a variety of iOS technologies to enhance their students’ understanding while making Shakespeare fun to learn and easier to read.
