Our Story-Our History: Using IPads as (His) Story Telling Tool

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Our goal is to share with our colleagues the strategies and technology tools we used to create a project based learning experience in a 5th grade inclusion classroom. These tools included iPads, MacAirs and a Smartboard. Attendees will learn how our 5th graders used iPads to research, collaborate, film, photograph and present projects on the history of our small city. Participants will review apps and websites used to conduct local history research, project collaboration, videography and photography and final project creation. Participants will be given a complete project plan including: - CCSS standards addressed - Evaluation Rubrics - Student Feedback - Self and Peer Evaluation form. Participants will learn how to plan out an interactive project in which students interview local historians and citizens to learn about the history of their town. The presentations will begin with an overview of the Our Story - Our History Project. The presenters will show video clips from student work allowing our students' work to demonstrate the project. Presenters will summarize the project and will briefly mention other ways iPads are being integrated into our elementary classrooms. Participants will be invited to ask questions, make comments and share their own experience of using technology in the elementary classroom
