Allyson Via has been teaching high school Biology and related courses in the Boston Public Schools (BPS) since 2001. She began her career at Charlestown High School where she worked for 9 years, joining the Boston Latin Academy community in 2010. She has a B.S. in General Biology, an M.S. in Evolutionary Biology, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Biology; she was Nationally Board Certified in Adult/Young Adult Science in 2013. Allyson collaborates with the Harvard Medical School Office for Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Partnership via the Hinton Scholars Program to improve science education for BPS AP Biology students. She is an enthusiastic naturalist and life-long learner who believes that curiosity and exploration are the keys to understanding.
