Michael is a senior at Boston Latin Academy. Along with his partner Rocio Nunez, he conducted an independent research project on Type 1 diabetes. The project utilized a bioinformatics approach that tested SNP ( small nucleotide polymorphisms) as an in order to determine an individual's likelihood of contracting diabetes. As a Hinton Mentor, he aids in monthly lab held at Harvard Medical School serving as a resource for the AP Biology students from his high school. In addition, he is currently working at the Brigham and Women's Hospital through a program known as the Student Success Jobs Program. As a research intern, he works in the Neurological Disease Lab, focusing primarily on blood testing of MS patients. He is heavily interested in studying biology in college and looking forward to being on the pre-med track with aspirations for Medical School.
